We hope you enjoyed the photos we shared on Facebook and Instagram from our recent trip to Colombia.
It was such an amazing trip. We learned so much about coffee production in Colombia and how it differs from our experiences in Thailand. We brought back several samples of beans, which we test roasted earlier this week. Our favorites were a totally different flavor than our inaugural Thai roast. These were floral, bright, and complex. We can’t wait for you to try them.
While we were in Colombia, we also visited Casa Hogar. Perched on the side of a mountain outside of Medellin, Casa Hogar provides a safe environment for under-privileged kids during the school week. The caretakers at the children’s home provide school supplies and uniforms, help with homework, provide food and shelter, and give the love and support these kids so desperately need.
When we visited them, we were able to use proceeds from Purpose Coffee purchases to provide school shoes and art supplies for the kids. We got to enjoy special dance performances by the kids, draw with them, play with them, and read with them. It was such a special day – for us, for them, and for you as an important part of our Purpose Coffee mission.
Enjoy this adorable video from the kids as their (and our) thank you!
