This morning, while drinking my morning coffee (on National Coffee Day, no less!), I started jotting down notes on how to introduce the Run for a Purpose this Saturday and everyone I needed to thank.
Seeing it in writing moved me to tears.
We have 40 businesses and families who answered the call to sponsor the event. An amazing team of volunteers who have helped plan, execute all of the little details, and drum up support for Saturday. And nearly 100 people who have signed up to participate in the 10k, 5k, and Fun Run.
I am blown away by the support of the Dalhart community. Thank you, so much, for your interest, passion, time, talent, prayer, and gifts.
We are well on our way to passing our original financial goals. So, the Purpose Coffee Board of Directors decided to give forward and invest back into the community that has invested so much in this new not-for-profit and this charity event.
We are excited to announce that we are able to donate $500 to the upcoming Warmth of Grace coat drive, to help ensure that each person in Dalhart has a warm coat this winter. The Warmth of Grace team has deemed October 11 “Coat Collection Sunday” – but if you have any gently used or new coats you’d like to contribute now, please feel free to bring them with you to the Run for a Purpose race and breakfast. Once again – thank you to this amazing community! Looking forward to a great Run for a Purpose on Saturday!
